For an explanation to what swap boxes are Click here.
Tammy is our Swap Box Coordinator. Please email her if you have any questions or concerns about the swap boxes.
For a print out copy of these guidelines, log into group. The printable version is in the Files area of the group.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fashiondollswap/files
Look for a file called swapboxguidelines.rtf. -- A pop up message will come on your screen. Please save a copy of it, to print out. -- (It's towards the bottom of the files list, in the files area.)
*Important* A print out of the guidelines will need to be inside all swap boxes at all times.
Participation: {Top}
1. Email Tammy privately via group with your snail mail address. (It's for mailing purposes) -- Mailing addresses will not be shared with anyone outside of the group. -- Click here to read how to email someone privately via Yahoogroups.
2. At the time of sign-up of each box, participants will need to let Tammy know what state they're in. As swap boxes will be matched state to state or as close as possible to help keep shipping costs down.
3. Participants will need to check in with Tammy to let her know the box has arrived. Mailing addresses will not be sent inside the box.
*Please Note* At this time, because of the high shipping cost, swap boxes will not be mailed outside of the U.S.
Handling of the Box: {Top}
We will only have one box going around at a time.
When you have the box in your hands, please let Tammy know or post something via group.
(fashiondollswap@yahoogroups.com)
Participants may keep the box for up to two weeks after receiving it, unless otherwise noted. If you need to keep it longer, please email Tammy.
*For Fabric boxes - Pieces should be at least 1/4 yard and then only one or two more (max.) than you take out.
Cutting off a smaller piece from larger fabric is allowed, as long as the remaining fabric is at least 1/4 yard.
*For all boxes -- Do not take out more items than you put in. Please do not overload the box. The box should be less than 4 pounds.
*Please Note* If you are a smoker, please put your contributions in a zippy bag or other type of sealed bag with dryer sheets or something similar.
Some fabric may be in plastic bags. Take out what you want leaving the remaining items in their perspective bags. Do not mix items from one bag to the next. Some items could be in bags only to protect them from moisture, others for reasons mentioned above.
Bagged fabric/items with names on them should not be opened.
Tip: One quarter yard (1/4) of fabric cut into a fat quarter (18" by 22") is a better cut than a store cut. If you don't have a large enough ruler you can accomplish this by folding the fabric in half and cutting out a piece that is 9" x 11" (on the fold).
Shipping: {Top}
When participants are ready to ship the box, they need to email Tammy to get the next person's mailing address.
*Delivery Confirmation is a MUST!!* The DC # needs to be shared with Tammy. So she can help track the packages.
Insurance will be required when deemed necessary. (It will be noted in sign-ups notices.)
Write FDsG Swap Box on the box.
When mailing packages, they may be mailed Priority or Parcel. Whichever you prefer.
If the box gets to costly to send out, please let Tammy know.
Hosting a Box: {Top}
We are happy to have volunteers host swap boxes. If members are wanting to host a box, please email Tammy to make sure it's okay. If it's okay, put together and send it to Tammy to send out. Tammy will take care of the sign-ups and getting mailing addresses.
