Activities
Guideline
Revised 05/30/2010
Members are encouraged to host group activities. If you would like to be an activity Host, click here for more information.
Some activities will require you to be an active participant in previous activities. You will be required to have participated in at least three (3) activities within the past twelve (12) months.
Please do not signup for swaps or other activities if you are not committed to seeing them through completion. I cannot stress this enough. It is not fair to others, especially your swap partner. You know yourself better than anybody. If you have problems committing or a tight schedule, maybe swaps are not for you. We have other activities available which require less committment.
For swaps, you and your swap partner (Swapner) decide on the specifics. Please do not have outrageous requests swaps (i.e. "I want only Midge dolls with blond hair and Shani arms."). Save those for private swaps. There are times swap due dates may need adjusting. This is fine if mutually agreed upon by the swapners. Most importantly, please keep in touch.
Note: Preferences are just that; what a person prefers. Swaps are gifts. People should not be under pressure. Fashion styles, colors, hair styles, etc. are easily attainable. Some of us prefer poser dolls, some prefer a particular ethnicity and some prefer a particular hair color, face mold, etc. Often our preferences are not what is available to our swapner. When asked, I often say, "I prefer ......., but don't go out and buy a doll if you have other dolls onhand."
Failure To Fulfil
There is "no tolerance" rule for failure to fulfil. Those who do not follow through with their commitment will be emailed. If you do not respond within five (5) days, you will be automatically unsubbed.
There is a "3 strike" policy for failure to fulfil your swap
commitments.
Strike 1 - prohibited from participating in activities until fulfilled (meaning
completed, postponed or cancelled by swapners).
Strike 2 - six (6)-month probation from participating in activities.
Strike 3 - prohibited from participating in swaps possibily being unsubbed
from the club.
We understand some situations cannot be helped (i.e. life/family crisis (deaths, illnesses, loss of job...), communication issues (computer problems, email problems). Be forthcoming and let one of the Managers know. If you do not have a valid reason or we cannot get in touch with you, you may be unsubbed and possibly banned from the club.
Report all swaps-gone-bad to the Moderators. See email address at the bottom of the group page. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fashiondollswap
